I flew to Calgary,
Alberta, shuttled west to Canmore and into the heart of the Canadian
Rockies. There I joined six other US quilt teachers and about 175
quilt students for a five day quilt seminar sponsored by Canmore's
The Sugar Pine Company, with classes of two, three and five days.
The entire trip was
one to remember. Canmore is on the boundary of Banff National Park,
and every inch of my seven days stay was surrounded by the most
elegant, sculptured mountains ever. My work week was overwhelmed by
what seemed to be a winter holiday.
And the Canadian
folks rolled out their best hospitality in and out of the
classroom. To remain was a temptation, but the pampering would end
with the seminar, and I returned to the real world of life at home.
I had 44 students
spread over the five days, and many left before we began
photographing their work, but we did get some shots of superior work
on the final afternoon. Browse and make a plan to join us next
year.
They invited me to
return March, 2007, and I look forward to another wonderful week in
the Canadian Rockies. |
